Slightly tricky question because the Auris was replaced by a new model in 2012, so it depends on which model you’re looking at. If it’s the new one then the answer is that there have been no major issues flagged up yet, but it’s a bit too early to tell. Then again, it would still have a year of the original warranty to run, so there would be some peace of mind in that respect. If it’s the outgoing 2012 model, then you’re also pretty safe. According to Warranty Direct, the Auris is massively reliable, well above average. We have heard some reports of gearbox problems and grumbling brakes, but these seem to be in the minority. As long as it has a full service history, you should be on to a winner.
