Hello, given that the Opel Corsa 1.2 turbo from 2023 does still have a wet belt, i would like to know if that engine is prone to failure like its counterpart from Stellantis, seen on Citroen and Peugeot automobiles from 2009 to 2019. I have seen some reports that the belt degrades to a breaking point earlier than it should and than the brand announces. Am i likely to run into those same issues with the 1.2 turbo the Corsa is running on? Thank you!
Hi Joao,
There have certainly been issues with wet belts in the past, but it is unclear if those have been rectified. You'd hope so given the concept is still in production today.
