That budget means you’re going to have to accept the cars you are looking at will be older (anything between 10 and 20 years old) with higher mileages (typically more than 160,000km). A search turned up these: the Opel Tigra B (Mk2), all of the Peugeot 206/207/307 CC models, Renault Megane CC, MINI One Cabriolet, a couple of leggy BMW 3 Series Convertibles and even an MGF. We’d recommend, though, despite the brand no longer existing, a Saab 9-3 Convertible. Push your budget as far as you dare to get the best example; we saw a 2006 €2,650 2.0T Vector with 166,000km on it – that’s your best bet. Avoid, like the plague, the Chrylser PT Cruiser Convertible, though.
