Generally a very robust car, especially on the safety front of course, but you need to keep an eye on the electrical systems (so make sure everything with a button and a wire is working properly), check the suspension for any nasty-sounding clonks or knocks and check the tyres for any signs of uneven wear and tear. If it’s the 1.6 diesel you’re looking at, make sure it has a full service history (essential for all models really) and that a high-grade oil has been used at service time. The oil pump can also leak and keep an eye on the water pump too.
