If you place reliability above all else, definitely go for the Micra in this situation. With respect to your old Punto, it was probably a ‘rogue’ model if it was faultlessly reliable, as lots of older Fiats can be… temperamental. Buying another one would a) be tricky, as there aren’t a lot of survivors left, and b) not likely to be as trouble-free a relationship as your old car. The 2004 Micra might not be flawlessly dependable, but you’ve got more chance of getting some bargain motoring out of it without it letting you down regularly.
