Hi I'm looking to upgrade to a seat Alhambra or a grand Picasso. The picasso is working out about 8k cheaper but the seat has no miles and the Picasso has 15k miles- it was a rental car. Would you recommend pcp at 4.9 or hp at 5.9. My car is a Picasso 2011 and the new Picasso is 161 and the seat is 162 reg by the garage.
Hi Cathal,
I'd be slightly wary of a rental car, especially if it's not an automatic. Also, you need to remember that the Picasso is a significantly smaller car inside than the SEAT, which will also be a more reliable car overall. Generally, I'd lean on the side of the SEAT as the bigger, more versatile vehicle, but sit down and do your sums on both the finance and the running costs as the Picasso will be cheaper to run day-to-day. As for PCP or HP, it depends on what your future plans are. If you like trading in regularly for a new car, then PCP is ideal. If you want to hang on to it longer than three years then go for HP.
