The light issue could be a bulb (which is tricky as you might have to remove portions of the dash to get at it, and it’s best to get a professional to do that) or a fuse (which is much easier — simply consult your owner's manual to find the fuse box and identify the right one). As for the leak, it’s most likely to be the rubber seat for the boot, which is relatively simple to replace, but if it’s a hatchback it could be a more serious leak around the edge of the rear screen or the rear screen wiper. You'll need to do a bit of targetted investigation to find out which.
