Which car suits minimal use?
Which car should I get petrol or diesel as I drive 8 to 10,000 miles per year. I intend to hold on to it for about 10 years. I also dont use it only 8 months out of the year as im away overseas. Mary.

Definitely a petrol, and can I suggest that you also invest in a battery conditioner to maintain the charge in the car's starter battery when you leave it standing? You haven't specified what sort of car you're looking for, but as ever (and especially given that you intend to leave it standing for some time every year) I'd suggest going Japanese or Korean to maximise reliability.
