Almost all mid-size and above SUVs have a maximum towing capacity for a braked trailer of 2,500kg, while some of the bigger ones (Land Rover Discovery, Audi Q7, etc.) can pull as much as 3,500kg so this really comes down to two things — how much do you fancy spending and how much does your horse box, with the two horses in it, weigh? The best in terms of value would probably be a Hyundai Tucson or Kia Sportage (which can tow up to 2,200kg with the 2.0-litre diesel engine) or, if you want something really cheap, a Dacia Duster, which can haul up to 1,500kg of trailer weight.
