As ever for a first or learner driver you need to keep the engine size as close to 1.0 litres as possible to keep your insurance costs even vaguely under control. The best cars to look for a the likes of a Toyota Yaris, Nissan Micra, Opel Corsa, Volkswagen up!, or a Hyundai i10.
As for how much it will cost to get insurance? That’s impossible for us to say, but you’re looking at four figures, and not low four figures either.
