Hybrid or electric power?

Hybrid or electric power?

which is better electric or hybrid car

Our answer:

Hi Dave,

It depends on what you need. If you’re primarily a city-dweller, all your mileage is done around town with only short hops out into the country and you have a driveway where you can charge an electric car overnight, then an EV might well suit you. With the range of most current electric cars being under 200km (although that is changing fast) you also need to be very organised with your charging and planning your journeys, so you need to make sure that you’re happy to keep the logistics of it in your head. If some or all of that sounds like too much hard work, then go for a hybrid. Toyota’s new Prius is exceptionally good – it does 60mpg pretty much everywhere and it’s not a plugin, so some of the hassle of more advanced all-electric cars is taken away.
