How can I double check a car's history?
Did a check on a car saying finance outstanding, garage saying there isnt. how do i know or get it clarified?

Generally speaking, we’d be inclined to trust the history check more than the garage, especially as they may not be fully aware of the history of a vehicle that they are selling. See if you can get hold of the finance company to which the money is supposedly owed and ask them for a confirmation either way.
