You've not told us what engine your i30 has, but no matter. The model changed in 2012, which may be causing some confusion, but it shouldn't, as nearly all i30 engines, whether 2007-2012 or 2012-2017, use timing chains. The only exceptions are the older version's 2.0-litre diesel and petrol engines, which use timing belts, but will be very rare in Ireland.
