If you’re talking ‘New’ Beetles, built from 1997 to 2010 and based on Volkswagen Golf mechanicals, then yes, they should be able to have tow bars fitted – unless you happen to have the super-rare RSi version, which is unlikely as only 250 were made. We would say, though, that no New Beetle had a particularly powerful engine nor high kerb weight, so its towing capacity will be fairly limited.
