The Vitz was imported second-hand from Japan so definitely would have come into the country with a km/h clock and distance measured in kilometres. It's possible that someone subsequently changed it to read in mph and miles, but very unlikely. I know that's not the definitive answer you'd like, but hopefully it's some comfort.
