SEAT launches Leon ST estate

SEAT continues to improve its product offering with the introduction of an estate version of the Leon named the ST - for Sports Tourer.

What's the news?
SEAT continues to improve its product offering with the introduction of an estate version of the Leon named the ST - for Sports Tourer. Despite the growth in size the Leon ST loses none of the style that its three- and five-door siblings enjoy. The 587-litre boot is one of the largest in its segment, and the boot floor can also be set to two different heights.

Like the rest of the Leon range, the ST is available with a range of engines starting with a 1.2-litre TSI petrol unit, while further up the performance range is a 180hp 1.8-litre TSI option. The popular choice however is likely to be the familiar 1.6-litre TDI diesel engine that produces 105hp and emits just 99g/km of CO2 - allowing it to fall into tax Band A2, which equates to annual road tax of €180.

Buyers have a choice of three different trim levels: S, SE and FR. The generously-equipped SE trim level includes features such as Bluetooth, cruise control, all-round electric windows, lane assist and reversing camera as standard. The higher FR trim adds a sportier look to this with the addition of larger 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps and an on-board Drive Profile that allows for different drive settings to be selected, altering the steering and throttle response.

Anything else?
SEAT has also introduced a permanent four-wheel drive option for the Leon ST that will give it an even greater level of versatility for those who choose to opt for it. Called 4Drive, the system will be available to order with the 105- and 150hp TDI engines while pricing for this is expected to be confirmed nearer to its introduction during the summer.
