I presently own a Range Rover Evoque 2016. Purchased due to mileage I do for safety, particularly in icy conditions. Reliability, quality and space inferior to my previous car (Audi Q5). Would consider changing but to what ? Safety paramount, customer service support paramount and would like a vehicle that is economical too. Need space for teenager/s & dogs. Would def consider Audi again or Volvo estate (Cross country) ?? Evoque broken down and given an Opel Insignia saloon, amazed by how little fuel I have used despite mileage ! Please advise on best option to replace Range Rover Evoque. Mileage approx 30,000 a year
Hi Sara,
A Volvo V60 estate might be the ideal answer, actually. Certainly if safety is your primary concern, then it’s very hard to look past Volvo as a brand. You could try the XC60 if you fancy sticking with a crossover, but you probably won’t be saving much fuel compared to the Evoque. Reliability is pretty strong for Volvos too. If reliability is a bigger concern, then I think your best bet would be to go for a Honda CR-V. Get the current shape model with the 1.6 iDTEC diesel and four-wheel drive and you’ve got a cracking car — roomy, frugal, incredibly reliable, good to drive.
