Well, with eight-seaters, you’re pretty much restricted to buying a van with windows. Of those, the best are the VW Shuttle and Caravelle (big and thirsty, though), or the new Citroen SpaceTourer and Peugeot Traveller, both of which are massive, relatively refined and pleasant to drive. For more conventional seven-seaters, we like the VW Touran, the Ford S-Max, the new Renault Grand Scenic and the excellent new Peugeot 5008.
