Carzone Review:

4 / 5

A new fourth generation version of the Renault Megane has landed for 2017, and it’s easily the sharpest looking Megane yet, with lots of interior tech and interesting news specifications to choose from. The Megane stands out from other cars in the class with its unique headlight and brake light design and large swooping front grille, while there are now three different body styles to choose from in the range, with the Megane Hatch, Grand Coupe and larger Sport Tourer to consider. For all of these reasons and more, the Megane has become one of the most-searched new cars on Carzone so far this year.

  • Sharp new looks
  • Competitive pricing
  • Good spec
  • Rivals are better to drive
  • No RS option yet

New Renault Megane Range

Along with the upgraded looks, the new Megane is awash with lots of new tech inside with optional head-up display, a 7-inch touch tablet screen in the dashboard along with Renault’s R-Link system for increased smartphone connectivity. A range of diesel engines is available as ever with the 1.4-litre dCi diesel option proving the most economical of the lot. Prices start from €19,490 for the base specification Megane Hatchback, which means it undercuts the Volkswagen Golf on price, and standard equipment is reasonably generous with air conditioning, cruise control and speed limiter and Bluetooth on base Expression models, though you’ll have to opt for higher specification Dynamique models to get alloy wheels and other desirable extras, a worthy upgrade in our opinion.
