New Porsche 'designed by Facebook'

One of the ways Porsche has marked the 911's 50th anniversary is with the Carrera 4S '5M Porsche Fans'.

What's the news?
If you have been living in a cave you might have missed the fact that the Porsche 911 celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. One of the ways the company has marked the occasion is with the Carrera 4S '5M Porsche Fans'. The number refers to the five million fans who have 'liked' the official Porsche Facebook page. Of those enthusiasts 54,000 voted on the design of their ideal 911, leading to the creation of the car pictured. One lucky person will have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the unique 911. A driving experience day in the car is being offered as first prize in a competition on the company's Facebook page.

Exterior
A special 'Aquablaumetallic' blue paint was chosen for the body with 20-inch Carrera S wheels finished in white. On each side of the body are decals reading '5M PORSCHE FANS'. There is also an aerodynamic styling pack comprising a deeper front spoiler and fixed lip spoiler on the engine lid with a wing on top.

Interior
Just in case you forget the car's unique status once you open the door the sill guards are engraved 'Personally built by 5 Million Porsche Fans'.

Mechanicals
The Porsche fans didn't just specify a fancy paint scheme; the one-off car comes with the optional power kit to take the output of the flat-six engine to 430hp.

Anything else?
Nine runners up will win a 1:43 scale model of the 5M Porsche Fans car; entry is open to anyone with a Facebook account and valid UK driving licence. To enter go to facebook.com/Porsche before 18th August.
