What's the news?
Today FM's Ray D'Arcy Show is staging a half-marathon on Friday April 18th with the aim of raising a minimum of €500,000 for the LauraLynn Children's Hospice. The event, which will be limited to just 2,000 participants, will take place in Dublin's Phoenix Park and each runner is asked to raise a minimum of €250.

Thanks to the sponsorship from Volkswagen Ireland, which is covering the costs of staging the event, all of the money raised will go directly to the charity, which is the only dedicated children's hospice is Ireland.

Paul O'Sullivan, Head of Marketing, Volkswagen Ireland, said "We are delighted to support Today FM on such an exciting event for a very worthwhile cause. LauraLynn provides a very important service to families when they need it most and we are honoured to have the opportunity to support them in their work."

Philomena Dunne, CEO of LauraLynn commented: "We are delighted to have the support of Today FM, Volkswagen and Athletics Ireland and we are really looking forward to the day. All funds raised will help us to start LauraLynn@Home, a programme which we will be running this summer initially in two locations, to bring hospice care to children in the comfort of their own home."
