Motoring show Top Gear may have pioneered the whole car versus bike/train/plane/marathon runner idea but it seems that the car manufacturers have cottoned onto the idea that not only does the concept make for good TV, it also works in advertising.
Case in point: Peugeot and this viral advert for the RCZ coupé. What better way to illustrate the handling prowess of your sportiest model than hand it to five times Italian Rally Champion Paolo Andreucci and pit him against downhill mountain bike specialist Lorenzo Suding?
The video sees the duo race down a snowy Italian pass with the front-wheel drive RCZ skidding and sliding its way down the road while the bike makes its way over rough terrain.
Being a Peugeot advert the eventual winner should come as no surprise but don't let that knowledge spoil the terrific camera work.
