NCTS has announced that the NCT service will reopen on a phased basis from Monday June 8th, subject to final approval from the Government on Phase 2 of its roadmap for reopening society and business proceeding as expected. If Phase 2 proceeds as expected on June 8th, NCTS will reopen 15 of its test centres across Ireland (see list below).

Customers who had an NCT test date prior to March 28th 2020 are now being encouraged to make a booking at one of these test centres. NCTS intends to reopen its remaining NCT centres on a phased basis in June and July, and it says this reopening will be aligned with the Government’s roadmap for reopening society and business.

In order to reopen the test centres, NCTS is putting a series of measures in place at each test centre, to mitigate against the spread of COVID-19 and to protect its customers and staff. NCTS has published a detailed FAQ document on what customers should expect when booking in their vehicle for an NCT test, and the various COVID-19 measures that it is taking going forward. This includes detailed processes on social distancing, hygiene and protocol for when customers arrive to the test centre. Click here for more details.
