Latest Euro NCAP results

Euro NCAP has released the test results for five more new cars - and most achieved top marks.

What's new?
The latest round of EuroNCAP car crash test results are out and it's good news for the Tesla Model S, new Skoda Fabia, Nissan Pulsar and BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, all of which will be bringing five-star trophies home to their respective board rooms. The Skoda result in particular must be seen as something of a high point, with the Fabia notching up an 81 per cent adult occupant protection score - within a single percentage point of the much bigger, vastly more expensive Tesla.

It was rather more middling news for Suzuki and Renault though. Suzuki's new Celerio small car (which replaces the Alto) takes home a three-star score - not great, but respectable for what will be a very cheap car and one that, because it doesn't come with a curtain airbag, missed out on points by being ineligible for the side impact pole test.

Is there more?
The Renault Megane's four-star score would normally be a crashing disappointment for a company that made a major name for itself in recent year as a safety king, but actually it's an improvement - the Megane did get only three stars before Renault resubmitted it for another test.
