What's the news?
Dublin-based Joe Duffy Motor Group is set to expand its presence with the acquisition of the former Bill Cullen Renault site in Airside, Swords, Co. Dublin. The prominent site, which has remained vacant for some time, will become operational in early 2014 and will see the creation of 20 new jobs - another bit of good news for the motor industry in Ireland. The company has stated that it is currently exploring potential franchise opportunities for the site.

Gavin Hydes, Group CEO said: "We are delighted to have acquired this retail facility in our core North Dublin heartland. This acquisition further strengthens the Group's presence in North Dublin and is in line with our plans for the strategic growth and development of our motor group."

Anything else?
This expansion has seen Joe Duffy Motor Group acquire HB Dennis and McAllister Volkswagen, while it has also taken over the former premises of Terry Lilly Commercials on the North Road, Dublin 11 - a further announcement for that location is expected in due course. The Joe Duffy Group has seen ambitious growth in recent times and has expanded its portfolio of brands to now include Audi, BMW, BMW i (the new electric vehicle sub-brand), BMW Motorrad (motorcycles), Land Rover, Mazda, MINI, Porsche, SEAT, Volkswagen and Volvo.
