Carzone Motoring Report Ireland June 2015

The Carzone Motoring report is a bi-annual index which tracks trends in both the new and used car markets in Ireland. Data has been compiled using the 100 million searches carried out on Carzone.ie last year, vehicle transactions listed on Cartell.ie and an in-depth survey of 1,404 motorists nationwide.

Key Findings

  • 303,750 used cars changed hands in the first three months of 2015
  • Volkswagen Golf remains most searched for model on Carzone.ie
  • Volkswagen has overtaken BMW as the most searched for car marque
  • '08 is still the most searched for model year
  • Black is most searched for car colour
  • 91% of learner drivers pass their test within two attempts

Commenting on the findings of the report, Warren Cray, general manager at Carzone.ie, said: “Now in its fifth edition, the Carzone.ie Motoring Report has given another fascinating insight into the Irish motor market and specifically into the mind set of Irish motorists and consumers. As we are seeing a clear increase in consumer confidence with used car transactions and new car registrations, the findings of our report show us what the consumer is looking for when buying a car. This ranges from make, model, fuel type and much more.”
