The image of wafting around the Italian countryside in an open-air cabriolet is inextricably intertwined with our typical notion of Italian motoring. It's somewhat surprising, then, that there wasn't a single four-seat convertible on offer from Italy's automakers until the relatively recent introductions of the Fiat 500C, Ferrari California and Maserati GranCabrio. But there nearly could have been, if only Alfa Romeo had given this project the green light....Mar 1, 2011
The beauty of Alfa Romeo is that it embodies the same sort of Italian flair as Ferrari and Maserati, but in a smaller, more accessible package. But what of Alfa Romeo? According to reports, the hottest of Fiat's core family will roll in with an all-new concept car....Jan 5, 2011
When Alfa Romeo was first founded in 1910 by the name A.L.F.A., they hired a chief engineer whose job was to design vehicles that were more suitable for the Italian market. This man was Giuseppe Merosi and his ideas gave them the A.L.F.A 24 HP and the A.L.F.A 40/60 HP which paved the way for Alfa’s entry into the racing scene. Now the man responsible for the Vittorio Jano Sport Wagon Concept, Marco Procaccini, is paying tribute to the Italian designer with the Giuseppe Merosi Design Study....
You remember the Bertone Pandion. Who could forget: Bertone's Alfa Romeo show car dropped at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year to rave reviews and dropped jaws. But as fortunate as we were to lay our eyes on it at all, the truth of the matter is that the poor lighting and commercial setting of a major car expo hardly serve as the best conditions for viewing such a fine example of automotive design....
