Volkswagen Golf now a van

The slick Volkswagen Golf line-up now features a two-model van range.

What's new?
Volkswagen Ireland has announced details of its new Golf Van - a commercial variant of the latest generation Mk VII Golf. Powered by a 90hp 1.6-litre TDI diesel engine, the Golf Van will come in a three-door body shape offering a load carrying capacity of 1,310 litres.

Through Volkswagen's BlueMotion engine technology, the Golf Van returns an official 3.8 litres/100km - or 74.3mpg in old money - on the combined cycle, which should keep the accountant happy, and being a commercial will attract annual road tax of €333.

With the standard Golf Van buyers will also get equipment that includes a leather steering wheel, front centre armrest, a 'Composition Colour' radio system featuring a five-inch touchscreen as well as air conditioning and a multi-function display that gives further information to the driver such as mileage, fuel economy and range remaining.

For an additional €695 buyers can upgrade the Golf Van to include the 'Business Package' that sees a larger, more detailed 5.8-inch 'Composition Colour' radio system installed that also features Bluetooth, as well as iPod connectivity, cruise control and a multi-function steering wheel.

How much?
Pricing for the new Golf Van will start at €16,280 excluding VAT (€19,995 including VAT) and is now available to order through the Volkswagen dealer network.
