Truck jumps F1 car...

You won't believe it until you see if for yourself - a truck jumping over a moving F1 car.

Have you ever wondered what the Formula One teams do during the off-season, what with all those race cars, trucks and highly paid drivers lying around gathering dust? (Yes, we do picture F1 drivers as Stig-like beings that are packed up in crates when not needed.)

Well if you are Lotus you take all three of them out to a test track to set a new world record - one for jumping a forty-foot truck over a moving F1 car! We didn't even know there was an old truck-jumping-over-a-moving-car record to be broken - certainly seems like the kind of thing that might stick out in the Guinness Book of Records. With the Lotus truck having cleared 83 feet during its jump it seems likely that Lotus F1 will hold this record for a while to come.

Certainly, amongst the ordinarily stuffy F1 paddock, we cannot think of any other team who would be mad enough to even attempt it. That said Tony Fernandez, owner of the Caterham Group, does seem to have the same devil-may-care attitude at Team Lotus. Whether or not he can convince Marcus Ericsson or Kamui Kobayashi to complete the stunt is another thing...
