Special edition Cactus

The special edition Citroen C4 Cactus arrives on our shores in October.

This should sell well in Kerry and parts of Donegal - a surfing special edition of the C4 Cactus named for famous shorts and swimwear maker Rip Curl.

The special edition Citroen C4 Cactus, which arrives on our shores (ahem) in October, comes with Rip Curl graphics on the wings and rear quarter-lights; white roof rails and door mirrors; orange seatbelts; orange detailing on the audio speakers; and orange-trimmed carpet mats.

It's not just a stickers-and-paint special edition, though, there is one significant mechanical change too: the addition of Grip Control. Working from a rotary switch in the cabin, Grip Control alters the way the traction control and throttle function in order to help the car deal with slippery surfaces, from mud to gravel to, of course, sand.

The Special Edition also features 17-inch diamond cut 'Cross' alloy wheels with Goodyear 4 seasons Mud+Snow tyres and you'll be able to choose from 110hp turbo PureTech petrol or 100hp HDi diesel engines.

Standard equipment includes aluminium-effect front and rear bumper protectors; rear parking sensors; a colour reversing camera; automatic air conditioning; automatic headlights and wipers; satellite navigation; a six-speaker MP3 audio system; cruise control/speed limiter; and tinted rear windows.

No prices yet, but those will be announced closer to the launch date.
