Nissan has launched its 'Nissan Micra Pink Week' event. Running until Saturday 24th November, the fundraiser is designed to raise money for Breast Cancer Ireland.

To take part, simply pop into any Nissan dealership or go online and book a test drive of a Nissan Micra. For every booking, Nissan Ireland will donate €50 to the charity.

To mark the event, four pink-wrapped Micras will be touring the country to help raise awareness of the fundraiser.

Next year will mark the 30th anniversary of the Micra, and as almost 100,000 models have been sold in Ireland since 1983, the car's popularity made it the model of choice for Nissan's event.

Breast Cancer Ireland says that one-in-ten women in Ireland will contract the illness; and that despite medical advances, 680 deaths from breast cancer are expected each year. Aisling Hurley, Development Director, Breast Cancer Ireland, urges everyone to get behind the Nissan Micra Pink Week in order to support the charity.
