Kia ties up with Community Games

Kia Motors Ireland has announced a three-year partnership with the Community Games.

Kia Motors Ireland (KMI) has announced a three-year partnership with the Community Games, during which time it will provide logistical vehicles to the organisation, as well as two cee'd GT Line hatchbacks for fundraising raffles.

James Brooks, Managing Director of KMI, said: "We are delighted to be associated with Community Games. Kia is primarily a family brand and we see a great fit between the organisation and our customer base. We hope that our contribution will help them in their day-to-day work and in their important fundraising efforts. We are also happy to promote Community Games in our own communications channels."

Gerry Davenport, Community Games' President, added: "This new partnership with Kia Ireland is testament to the work of Community Games all over Ireland in promoting healthy and active lifestyles for children and communities as a whole. Kia is one of the top five car manufacturers in the world and, with a history spanning over 50 years, is a great fit for Community Games. We look forward to celebrating our Golden Jubilee with Kia Ireland in the driving seat."

At the announcement of the tie-up, rugby star Sean O'Brien was also present - he's a Kia Brand Ambassador and a Community Games Hero, along with the likes of Sonia O'Sullivan, Niall Quinn and Tommy Bowe. Sean first took part in the games aged eight, where his specialist event was the 100 metres sprint; something to which he still credits his speed on the rugby pitch.
