See all Motoring NewsA high performance 2005 Ford GT, first owned by British racing driver Jenson Button, has been set to be auctioned at the end of the month by Silverstone Auctions. The auction will be held at Race Retro, Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire on 25th and 26th February.
Button’s spectacular Ford GT is very rare and special and is already highly sought after. It is one of five vehicles, out of only 101 supplied to Europe, that were marked ‘VIP’ by the Ford National Sales Company.
As the car is so rare and marked ‘VIP’, it is estimated to be auctioned at £250,000 - £300,000. The ultra-high performance model shows off the remarkable advances in technologies and can be recognised by the evocative colour combination of the blue and white racing stripes. Later in this car’s life, it was bought by the current owner in 2011 and today reads just 8,350 miles.
