Ford has launched its overhauled C-Max compact MPV range in Ireland, announcing its full model line-up and pricing structure.
As before, buyers choose from the five-seat, five-door version and the seven-seat Grand C-Max model with sliding side doors. Prices start at €25,755 for the former, or €28,355 for the larger version.
Under the bonnet
There are effectively six different powertrains to choose from, depending on trim grade chosen. Ford's award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine comes in 100- and 125hp states of tune, both emitting 117g/km. A new 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine replaces the 1.6-litre unit of old and is offered in both 95- and 120hp guises, both emitting just 105g/km. At the top of the line-up is a 150hp 2.0-litre TDCi option, which, like all other engines, comes with a manual gearbox as standard, but can be specified with the 'Powershift' automatic. The latter adds 10g/km to the emissions of this engine (manual gearbox figures: 114g/km in the regular C-Max and 119g/km in the Grand C-Max).
The facelifted Ford C-Max features a redeveloped suspension and a new electronic power assisted steering system.
What about trim levels?
Just two trim levels are offered - Zetec and Titanium. The former includes electric front windows, MyKey, a leather steering wheel, privacy glass, the SYNC 1 Bluetooth system, front fog lights, a Quickclear windscreen and 16-inch wheels. Buyers of the Grand C-Max Zetec additionally get rear parking sensors, electrically folding door mirrors and, of course, a third row of seats.
The C-Max Titanium benefits from larger alloy wheels (17-inch items), cruise control, LED daytime running lamps, dual-zone climate control, electric rear windows and other detail enhancements such as ambient lighting and chrome trim.
