Fiat celebrates the 500

This year marks 60 years of the iconic Fiat 500.

This year marks 60 years of the iconic Fiat 500. To celebrate, there is a limited edition version of the current 500 with special paint and interior trim. The 500-60th uses the Fiat 500 convertible body, finished in two-tone pastel ivory over white with a grey fabric roof. There are also chrome mirror caps and new, 16-inch alloy wheels. Details include retro-style logos and a 500-60th model badge with a red '6' and '0' incorporated into the '500' insignia.

Continuing the retro theme there's Bordeaux-coloured vinyl on the dashboard, matching the piping on the ivory leather seats. There are 500-60th tread plates and a commemorative plaque between the front chairs too.

Equipment includes a seven-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for integrated smartphone control, while satellite navigation, cruise control and automatic climate control are also part of the package.

Three petrol engines are available: the 1.2-litre 69hp, four-cylinder and 0.9-litre 85hp TwinAir, which are available with manual or Dualogic automatic transmissions, and a second version of the 0.9-litre TwinAir with 105hp. Official fuel economy and emissions figures for the 85hp TwinAir with Dualogic gearbox are 74.3mpg and 88g/km.

Backing up the limited edition model is the '500 Forever Young' campaign that celebrates models from the past and present.
