Facelift time for Citroen MPVs

Citroen has revealed a facelift for its C4 Picasso line-up.
It's already massively successful and a huge family favourite, but the Citroen C4 Picasso is not above being improved, so the French company is launching an updated model for 2016, which features mildly revised styling at the front (new radiator and air inlets,  as well as chrome surrounds for the foglights) and new 3D-effect rear lights.

Buyers can have a black-contrast roof on the five-seat version now, and there are new alloy wheel options too. On the tech front, you can optionally have a powered tailgate that opens when you waggle your foot around under the bumper, saving you putting your shopping down to hunt for the keys.

It's also getting two new petrol engine options, both based on the 1.2-litre PureTech three-cylinder turbo unit. You can now have either a 110hp version with a six-speed manual gearbox, or a 130hp variant with a six-speed automatic, both engines having stop-start as standard.

Inside, there's an updated touchscreen infotainment system and new 3D maps for the satnav, while you can now also have Apple CarPlay. Other updates include speed limit reading cameras, radar cruise control and lane departure warning.

"For us, the new Citroen C4 Picasso is a showcase of our finest know-how. In addition to its unique, modern and dynamic styling, it offers an incomparable level of comfort. With its architecture and the EMP2 platform, it brings motorists spaciousness, modularity and on-road qualities that enhance the well-being of all passengers. Today we are equipping it with a set of new useful technologies that simplify everyday life and improve safety. The New C4 Picasso has everything it takes to be a leader in the European market" said Linda Jackson, CEO of Citroen.
