See all Motoring NewsPeugeot is updating the 308 hatch (and SW estate) for the 2017 model year, but you'll need to (as so often) break out the bi-focals to see many differences between this one and the previous model.
The biggest change is a new nose, which moves the Peugeot badge from the bonnet to the centre of the grille (something that GT models already had) and some updated lights with new LED daytime running signatures.
The bumpers are new, as are the intakes (which are mostly fake), and the rear lights have been slightly updated.
Inside, the cabin remains largely the same, with some updates for the central touch screen (which now comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), and a new gear shifter for the automatic gearbox.
There are improvements to the driver assistance systems though, with Active Safety Brake and Active Lane Departure Warning. And this is the first PSA Group model to get cruise control including a stop function (with automatic transmission) or a 30km/h function (with manual gearbox).
The engine line-up remains unchanged in principle with the 130hp 1.2-litre PureTech turbo petrol and the 120hp 1.6 BlueHDI diesel being the keystone models. That 1.2 PureTech has been updated internally, though, and while there are no increases in power or torque, Peugeot says that improved ignition control and exhaust gas systems have improved real-world economy (which is crucial as Peugeot is one of the biggest supporters of the incoming RDE real-world driving regulations). There's also a new 2.0-litre 130hp BlueHDI engine.
