Our team have been busy researching, measuring and extrapolating on Ireland’s trends in Car Energy Consumption for the past few weeks and have put together this handy infographic. Emissions taxes as well as factors such as fuel cost have contributed to a shift in car energy consumption. One of the principal shifts has been in attitude to energy consumption. A whopping 95% of new cars bought in Ireland are now in the A and B band of efficiency. The trend sees a jump from 2007, in which only 18% of new cars bought were of the A and B bands of efficiency.

This holds good news for motorists as the cost of re-fuelling has fallen dramatically. Since 2013, the average cost of fuel has dropped by 10%^.  For those of you with a keen eye for a bargain, Limerick has the cheapest petrol station in the country. The cost of refiling at Amber, Kilmaklock Road, currently* sits at €126.80 for petrol vehicles and €123.90 for Diesel vehicles.
