Petrol cars were the only cars to fall in popularity with searches for this type of vehicle down 25%, proving once again that consumers are looking for greener, more economic options.
The research also uncovered some interesting trends in relation to colour choice – green cars are beginning to rise in popularity, with a 48% increase in searches over the past six months. However, black is still the most popular colour search with over a quarter of people (26%) searching for a black car, followed by silver and red. When it comes to the most searched car on the site, the BMW 3 series came out on top, with the highest amount of searches in the past six months.
According to the results, activity on Carzone.ie has increased year on year despite the current climate.
