AMG engineers cook something up for Christmas

When four AMG engineers gather round an engine bay you can be assured they are cooking up something a little special.

AMG used to be something of a skunk works division within Mercedes-Benz that now engineers and builds not only hot Mercedes models but also provides the engines for Pagani and, if rumours are to be believed, Aston Martin in the near future. The firm famously has a 'one man, one engine' philosophy so every engine bears a plaque signed by the technician that put it together.

So when four AMG engineers gather round an engine bay you can rest assured they are cooking up something a little special. The fact that the car they are working on is the SLS AMG GT3, complete with a 550hp 6.3-litre V8 engine, has little to do with the cadre of engineers. The focus of their attention is much more important than that (considering the time of year)...
