Why isn't Infiniti in the Irish market?

Why isn't Infiniti for sale on the Irish Market? I see a few imports around Galway. Attractive cars.

Our answer:

Hi Brian,

Infiniti is owned by Nissan, and was originally created to give Nissan a rival for Lexus, and Honda’s Acura luxury brand in the US market. Although Infinitis have been on sale in the UK and Europe for a while now, so far the business case for an Irish launch hasn’t yet stacked up. Irish buyers are very, very conservative when it comes to luxury cars — just look at Lexus and Jaguar sales compared to those of Mercedes, BMW and Audi - so it’s not an easy market to break into, even for a well-established name. It’s very likely that at some stage we will see Infiniti come to the Irish market, but not for a bit yet, we suspect.
