When to change a 2014 Volvo V40's belt?

At what mileage should a 2014 Volvo V40 D3 (2.0L diesel,150bhp, manual) timing belt be changed? And what other big replacements/renewals should I look out for? Car has 72k miles at present.

Our answer:

Hi Julie.

The belt should be changed at least every 180,000km or 10 years - whichever comes first. Same for its tensioner and the auxiliary belts and tensioner.

Every 12 months the brake fluid should be replaced.

Every 60,000km the air filter and fuel filter should be replaced.

That's aside from the required oil and filter changes, obviously.
