What to do with my flood-damaged Mercedes?
We came to cork for holiday in October and my Mercedes GLA 2016 car was unfortunately seriously damaged in the floods in Midleton. My English insurance company wouldn’t pay out as I didn’t realise I wasn’t covered for flood damage. I’ve been told it’s a write off as the electrics are destroyed but the bodywork is still pristine. It was immaculate with 30,000 miles. Can you give me any idea what my options are, if any. Thank you.

It's worth checking your holiday insurance to see if there's anything there that might cover the damage, as unlikely as that might seem. Failing that, I'd suggest bringing the car to a good mechanic to get a price for putting things right. Even if it is a high price, it's likely to be a lot less than buying a complete replacement.
