Thoughts on this 2016 Peugeot 208?
Hi there, I’m looking at a 2016 Peugeot 208. It’s a 1.6 diesel and has 114,000km on it. I’m wondering how reliable these cars are? It’s my first car so I’m trying to buy the most reliable that I can due to my financial situation. I also want a small car and love the look of these. When speaking with a car dealer today, he said he would avoid Peugeot. I would just love some advice on this? Thanks so much.

We wouldn't agree with the dealer in that you should avoid all Peugeots, but that age 208 is known to have lots of issues so it would be difficult to recommend. Also, unless you're likely to cover well over 25,000km a year - and much of that on the motorway - I'd suggest staying away from diesel, too, as a diesel car can be expensive to maintain if it's used only on short journeys. Insurers may also baulk at the 1.6-litre engine size.
