Thoughts on a 2010 SEAT Leon?

Thoughts on a 2010 SEAT Leon?

I am a looking at a 2010 seat leon that has 147000 miles on it is it any good

Our answer:

Hi Tara,

Obviously it's not possible for us to comment on a car we've not seen, but in general the Leon is a good option. It's built on the same underpinnings as the VW Golf (and other similar cars) and is known to be quite robust. As it's 14 years old, of course, you can't expect perfection, but you can reduce the chances of buying a dud by doing a few things:

1 - Test drive several different examples of the same car from different sellers so you get a feel for how the car should/could drive.

2 - Buy one with as complete a service history as possible.

3 - Do a history check with Cartell.ie.

4 - Make sure all the dashboard warning lights are working when you turn on the car's ignition and that they then go off when it is running.

5 - Test drive the car up to and including motorway speeds making sure you check the gearbox is good in all gears.

Hopefully that's of help.
