How to get a Rexton back on the road?
Hi, my husband has a 151 Rexton which is not in use and off the rd for last 18 months. It’s currently registered as a commercial. What is the process to change this to a private vehicle? Is it just a change of tax or will we need to pay other fees such as extra tax as it was bought as new as a commercial vehicle. Thanks

Hi Rachael,
First up, before you do anything, if the vehicle was not declared as off the road before that period, you are liable for its tax during that time. Once that's sorted, it's an easy process to switch it over to private vehicle registration. Get in touch with your local motor tax office and they'll talk you through it. There won't be any extra costs, though the annual tax rate will be significantly more. It will be based on the engine size, even though it's a 2015 model.
