Do I pay VRT on a caravan?

Do I pay VRT on a caravan?

if I buy car from Northern Ireland I have to pay vrt. or how this work also. caravan

Our answer:

Hi Nando,

Yes, VRT is usually due on importing a car from Northern Ireland. That's not the case for caravans (i.e. no VRT is due), but VAT and import duty may be depending on the circumstances. Many buyers just hook the caravan up to their car, add a number plate and import the caravan without declaring it, which is stictly not legal.
