If you’re looking for strong retained value then it’s hard to look past a Toyota. A sum of €10k gets you into an Auris 1.33 VVTi petrol from around 2013-2014 and that’s an excellent car. Not the most exciting perhaps, but solid and reliable, roomy and pleasant to drive.
